Holding a Flower

I am informed by person-centred and psychodynamic theory but generally adopt a holistic and integrated approach, drawing from a range of modalities and techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness when appropriate.

Before therapy commences, a thorough evaluation is performed to determine the nature, stage, and severity of the client's problem(s). The assessment is important in determining the intensity and type of treatment that will be recommended.

Psychotherapy (talk therapy) allows individuals to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviours in a safe and non-judgmental environment.  This collaborative process enables the client to gain insight into how past experiences and unconscious motivations shape their current behaviour.  By better understanding emotional patterns and their roots, clients are better equipped to manage their problems, improve personal relationships and develop coping techniques that will help them both now and in the future.

Reaching Out

Group therapy is a form of counselling where a small group of people meets weekly to discuss, interact, and explore problems with each other and the therapist.

Groups provide an affordable, safe, and structured environment where clients can experience, learn and practice new skills and behaviours.

I offer mindfulness, mental health, and recovery support groups.
