Hello, I'm Natasha
I am a clinical social worker with over a decade of experience in private practice in Somerset West. Clinical social work is a specialised field focused on the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental health disorders, as well as emotional and behavioural disturbances in adults.
Prior to completing my Master’s degree, my foundational years were rooted in the non-profit sector specialising in addiction services. During this time, I conducted clinical screening and assessments, facilitated the Matrix Intensive Outpatient Programme, and led training and development initiatives—running workshops on substance use disorders and treatment for both fellow professionals and the broader community.
To deepen my clinical scope, I completed my Master's clinical internship at Lentegeur Psychiatric Hospital in Ward 15, a specialised adult therapeutic unit. My work there involved conducting comprehensive psychiatric assessments, managing complex individual cases, and facilitating group psychotherapy within a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and nursing staff to deliver truly integrated patient care.
When insight becomes the beginning of change
Sometimes the greatest source of distress isn't a single event, it's the feeling that you keep living the same story. The same self-doubt. The same relationships. The same ways of coping that no longer serve you. You may know these patterns well, yet still feel unable to change them.
Meaningful change begins with understanding. Therapy isn't about being told what to do or learning to think positively. It's about making sense of the experiences that have shaped you, recognising the patterns that have kept you stuck, and creating the conditions for lasting change. This process takes curiosity, honesty, and time, but it can also bring relief, clarity, and a different way of relating to yourself and others.
I support individuals struggling with drug/alcohol addiction, problem gambling/gaming, or those seeking to moderate or reduce their substance use. I also provide in depth therapy for compulsive sexual behaviours, mood disorders, anxiety & panic disorders, chronic stress, personality disorders & relationship difficulties.
My role is not to provide all the answers, but to help you discover the understanding and insight that make change possible.
My practice is a LGBTQ+ affirming space, and my approach to therapy is grounded in respect, curiosity, and care.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is a profound and privileged one—something I hold with deep respect.
I invite you to spend some time with me.
